apresentação

Action composed of a series of video arts, unfolding the work and theatrical-performative research, Vila Parisi, a play performed in site-specific/art in situ in the industrial zone of Cubatão-SP (Brazil)¹. Combined with sound productions, each video consists of poetic symbols that synthesize the work built over two years of researches, rehearsals, and presentations of the piece. The result is a singular track that forms an intersectional language among photography, cinema, theater, performance art, literature, and music. This combination plays with the memory and mental spaces of the audience. This series made part of the project "Interweaves of performance art and education" broadcasted by Sesc Santos' on online platforms and also invited to the International Performance Art Festival Zacatecas, Mexico.

PORTRAIT 1: WHAT IS YOUR VOICE VILA PARISI?

In the first video, we have, from a central question, the invitation for a poetic deepening to the cosmos of the foreshadowing of a tragedy experienced by a population devastated by the Brazilian developmental project of the 1970s.

QUADRO 1 - QUAL É TUA VOZ VILA PARISI ?

No primeiro vídeo, temos, a partir de uma pergunta cerne, o convite para um aprofundamento poético ao cosmo do prenúncio de uma tragédia experienciada por uma população assolada pelo projeto desenvolvimentista do Brasil dos anos 1970.

PORTRAIT 2: CONSTRUCTION

A crack in time allows us to see the work of a laundress and two industry workers performing their daily tasks during their continuous movements. The repetition of images, the multiplication of bodies, and the human absence in the composed scenographies propel us to imagine the importance of the workers and base workers who were here and still are.

PORTRAIT 3 - BIOINDICATORS

An Anti-technofascist Latin American manifesto, which evokes the intensified experience in the city of Cubatão during the 50s with the unplanned developmental project that put all biodiversity, fauna, and flora at risk, that committed several crimes against life, transforming the city into an open-air laboratory.

PORTRAIT 4 - MARACANGALHA

Under the light of a roadside cabaret, a territory dedicated to the commercialization of bodies appears. A neighborhood that emerged due to the continuous hunting for female bodies reveals women marked by archetypes that invert the predatory logic of a sexist imaginary. Here they are represented by a folk tale of women who bathed by the river and devoured the men they attracted.
